Not to mention that the mockingjay pin loses every value it had when she gives it to Rue, then they’re like ‘O HUR U GO CATNUS HERE IS A REPLICA OF THIS PIN EVEN THOUGH IT’S NOT THE EXACT SAME ONE THAT STARTED THE REBELLION ANYWAY! we’ll just give you the crappy second hand one that we randomly have!”
First chill bambinos, it is a pin…and secondly I have to ask, past you initial “Jdkskdjskjdks” HAVE YOU THOUGHT THIS THROUGH.
First the pin! It belonged to maysilee donner, somebody who was a close and dear friend of katniss’s mother. Mrs everdeen even mentions in catching fire that after her death, her family gave her a song bird to remember her by. So why can it not have been the pin instead? You guys have to remember that they are going to have to tell this story in under two hours, and they also have a budget. Now let me tell you, as somebody who actually knows about the industry, with everything they are going to have to build and make, and pay all the actors they already have…they are going to need to cut some corners in places, and cutting out a minor character, who simply gives katniss a pin…IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD! It is a simply telling the story in a different way, and actual I think it is going to have a bigger emotional impact on screen. Instead of that pin meaning nothing to katniss, it is going to be her one connection to her family while she battles through the games. I personally think that will add something to the movies, not decrease them…
Secondly, katniss leaving the pinn with rue is heartbreaking…and yes it makes little sense plot wise, but think of the emotional impact of it, and the symbolism it represent. All that will help aid the emotional impact of rues death…cos what to us would have been hours of reading, and learning about how katniss truly feels about rue, on screen will be no more than 30 mins, and without a voice over telling us! So the choice for katniss to give up the pinn, will proably be used to enhance the message.
Finally the re-giving of the pin…I am sure you said it was gifted by the people of district 12, not the capitol. This felors is once more, symbolisum. HELLO, THE MOCKINGJAY BECOMES THE SYMBOL OF THE REBELION, GIVING KATNISS BACK THE PINN IS LIKE THEM MARKING HER HAS THEIR LEADER. Seriously. Think about what you are saying before you rant off. Everything in this movie has been considered over and over and over again, both Ross and COLLINS ( you know the author of the book ) have signed off on this script, so lets just take a chill pill cos seriously at the end of the day IT IS JUST A PIN! As long as they stick to the main events, which we know they have, basically word for word stupid little details like the pinn should really not bother us!

As for the rest of you, CALM THE FUCK DOWN. When I read the title of this post, I couldn’t even remember who she was until I read the comments. She had very little part in the book and they’re supposed to make the entire thing shorter because how the fuck are you going to fit hundreds of pages in a book into a two-hour movie??? The movie can’t be exactly the same as the books and it will not be how we pictured it. Accept that.
